Bloom House revives a grand Queen Anne Edwardian residence—previously renovated and stripped of its character—into a captivating family home. Thoughtful replanning brings legibility to the layout, while a richly layered interior balances calm, playfulness and whimsy, allowing the home’s crafted heritage to bloom.
Natural oak joinery and sand and blue tones lay the foundation of the new scheme, establishing a classic, muted feel, over which figured marble, linen drapery, brass and plaster accents rest. Inspired by an original steel lacework door, intricate curvatures are reflected in sweeping joinery, bullnose edge detailing and delicate gestures. Combining historic and contemporary design elements, furniture and décor, the interior gently binds the home’s once disparate old and new volumes, while delivering a tactile, sophisticated and crafted design language, befitting the home’s heritage.
