Inspired by European retreats, this Portsea beach house combines relaxed materials, furniture and décor to craft a serene holiday escape for a young family of five.
Thick textured rugs, soft linens and warm leathers harmonise with Inglis Architects’ tactile palette— timber cabinetry, concrete benchtops, stone floors and mineral-finished walls—to lend a cohesive interior expression. Relaxed furniture reinforces a sense of quiet retreat, complementing the home’s robust architectural elements, including the living room’s hammered-stone hearth. Handmade objects and tonal artworks, including pieces by Clementine Stoney Maconachie and Jahnne Pasco-White, add depth and character, elevating the home’s sanctuary-like atmosphere.
