Celebrating the romance of a Victorian Terrace in inner Melbourne, Victorian House introduces a light-filled and layered approach, imbuing the compact house with a feeling of generosity and refinement.
The home’s once enclosed rooms are replanned as light-filled family spaces for living and entertaining. Herringbone timber floors reference the crafted details of the home, complemented by elegantly detailed cabinetry and polished plaster walls, awash with neutral hues. Dramatic gestures, such as a sculptural pendant of clustered spheres, reinterpret the grand scale of the home with a contemporary hand, while accents of colour and pattern inject personality, maintaining a playful and approachable tone.
